Student Transfer Options
Types of Transfers
Controlled Open Enrollment Plan (COEP)
Under NCSD Administrative Rule 5.12 students and parents may seek permission from the School District for each of three types of transfer.
1.) In-County Transfer
This type of transfer is for students requesting a transfer within Nassau County to a school outside the attendance zone to which the student is assigned. The Transfer must be approved by the principal of the receiving school, sending school, and the School Board.
To apply for an In-County Transfer please complete the "Student Request for Transfer In-County" form and submit to the principal of the receiving school.
2.) Out-of-County Transfer
This type of transfer requires approval by the Superintendent, or his/her designee, and the School Board. To apply for an Out-of-County Transfer please complete the "Student Request for Out-of-County/State" form and submit to the Administrative Services Office at the Nassau County District Office.
3.) Out-of-State Transfer
This type of transfer requires approval by the Superintendent, or his/her designee, and the School Board. To apply for an Out-of-County Transfer please complete the "Student Request for Out-of-County/State" form and submit to the Administrative Services Office at the Nassau County District Office.
